How to Accessorize Your Bathroom; Your Shopping Checklist Delivered

Of all the areas in the house, the bathroom requires the largest number of fixtures and accessories before it becomes a fully functional room. It can be lots of fun to get your bathroom accessories together. It is actually one of the easiest and cheapest shopping trips compared to the rest of the house. Great accessories can really style the bathroom; however, you shouldn’t use too many otherwise the bathroom will look like a cluttered garage sale. Your bathroom should be convenient, comfortable, and peaceful. Here are some of the basic accessories that you should have on your shopping list

Toilet Seats: Toilet seats usually come with the new toilet; after a few years, they will need to be replaced. While you might not have thought much about it, a new toilet seat can really make a difference in your bathroom. When re-purchasing, make sure that you keep the design of the toilet in mind so that it will both fit and match perfectly. There are a variety of shapes and styles that you can choose from, such as contemporary, artistic, or traditional.

Toilet Roll Holders: Toilet paper holders can definitely add style into the bathroom; they come in several designs. Be sure you don’t choose one that is too bulky; you don’t want your accessories to take up the whole bathroom. Therefore, be sure to consider the space, as well as the overall aesthetic of the room. If your bathroom is traditional, you should probably go with the classic wall plated design. Modern homeowners tend to prefer incorporating geometrical shapes and wild or bold patterns to complement the modern style of the bathroom.

Spare toilet roll holders: Only recently have spare toilet roll holders become popular again. They used to be considered a major eye-sore, and tacky. However, times have changed, and designers now make very attractive toilet roll holders. Of course, if you aren’t crazy about them, you can get a nice basket and put them next to the toilet, or hide them in your cabinet. Choose a nice-looking design which fits the whole room perfectly, you can use these functional accessories in adding beauty into the bathroom.

Toilet brush and toilet brush holders: The toilet brush and its holder are usually hidden somewhere behind the toilet bowl along with bathroom cleaners, where guests won’t see them. Unfortunately, these two things have to be there. That doesn’t mean you can’t find an attractive toilet brush holder. Many manufacturers make very stylish ones; they’re definitely better than the generic $2 white plastic one.

Of course, you won’t want to forget a trash can, a bath mat, a shower curtain, tooth brush holder, cotton ball and q-tip jars, and a soap dish.

  1. I LOVE to shop for the bathroom, and do so frequently. My favorite places to go to are Home Goods, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and sometimes eBay. Anthropologie has great candles.

  2. Those are my favorite places! I also like to shop on WayFair, and Target is always a great go-to for bath items as well. You only left one other place out…Tuesday Morning!
